5 Personal Touches to add to your Birmingham, Alabama Wedding Day
We know you have already put a lot of thought into your wedding day. You’ve focused on making decisions that reflect your style and preferences. As a wedding videographer in Birmingham, Alabama, we get the privilege of attending many weddings every year. There are so many times that we’ll walk into a space and just say, “Wow!”. Sometimes a particular design or a unique element inspires us. Other times it’s a look or feeling that captivates our wedding day creativity.
The creative of work of many wedding coordinators, florists, bakers, and more really make our work as wedding videographers shine. As a videographer in Birmingham, we focus on creating a film that reflects all of the special moments of your day. We all have a different part of our wedding day that we want to look or feel a certain way. For our wedding day, we had two priorities. First that our friends and family would be able to worship with us as we joined together in marriage. Second, that everyone enjoyed the amazing food at the reception. We love God, people and food and those were the focus of our wedding day. So, what personal touches are you going to add to your wedding day? Here are just a few of some personal touches that have stood out to us during our wedding filmmaking.
5 Personal Touches to add to your Wedding Day
1. “Get to know you” cards at the reception. A lot of your guests will either know you or your groom, but not know much about the two of you as a couple. Adding a “get to know you” card at the reception with fun facts about the two of you will have your guests smiling. You could also include your new mailing address on your fact card.
2. Activity basket at the reception table. Each table has a small bucket or basket with little things to keep adults and kids occupied. This is especially a great touch if you are doing family portraits after the ceremony. Ideas to fill the buckets include coloring sheets, word searches, or mad libs. Add some crayons and pens to the activity bucket as well. This bucket could even be worked into your table centerpiece.
3. Fresh scents in the restrooms. We know it’s a little thing, but your guests will appreciate your attention to detail. We’ve been in restrooms at venues and private properties in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Restrooms with a clean, fresh scent are great when hosting your wedding guests.

4. Edible wedding favors. We’ve noticed that edible wedding favors actually get taken home by guests. Bonus points if the edible favor can be used during your reception or has a special meaning to you as a couple. Think about doing a smore kit to use in the camp fire outside. Or you could share coffee beans from your favorite coffee shop.
5. Essentials basket in the restroom. While your guests are enjoying the party, a nice touch is to provide some freshening up essentials in the restroom. A nice basket of travel sized items in the restroom will have your guests smiling at your thoughtfulness. Items such as breath mints, stain wipes, hairspray, toothpicks, and mouthwash could be included in the basket. This would be an easy basket to put together for your wedding guests.
