Alabama Farm Wedding
My spring wedding season started with one of my favorite brides. I met Rachel when she was is high school. I was dating her “big brother” and Rachel’s family welcomed me to country life my newlywed year. So many good memories. I am so humbled that Rachel and Alex would invite me to photograph their wedding day. You can also see some of their winter engagement gallery in Florence, Alabama.
The wedding events were on a private property in the country just outside of the Tuscaloosa area. I asked the two, “What is the most anticipated part of your wedding?” They said, “the vows and commitment they were making together.”
The ceremony took place inside a beautiful log barn. The log barn was built after the April 2011 Alabama tornadoes caused destruction to the property. Rustic farm pieces filled the barn. Guest sat on fabric covered hay bales and candles were lit next to natural floral pieces. The bride and groom stood on a stage in front of open bar doors looking out into the sun-filled country side. The wedding party consisted of sisters, brothers, and golf teammates. After the wedding, the happy couple drove down the property to their reception outside at a Greek-revival style home. Friends and family filled the day with laughter and love.
Thank you Rachel and Alex for being the easiest wedding couple in the world and for doing a little mud riding with me to get that one last picture.
Alex’s teammates analyzing his golf swing before the ceremony. One of my favorite moments of the day. The father of the bride sneaks into the scene during the bridal portraits. Seeing her dad for the first time brought sweet tears to Rachel’s eyes.
I have received so many great comments from this bridal portrait. I created this images to capture the amazing beauty of Rachel on her wedding day. I had envisioned this shot, and wanted it to be a surprise for Rachel. With minutes before leaving before the ceremony, I quickly posed her and this wonderful portrait was made.
A short break to take a picture with my handsome husbands. Our kids are the around corner drinking lemonade and playing by a hay bale.
