Tuscaloosa Summer Engagement

Jaimie and Travis are such a great couple. I enjoyed getting to know them during their sun-filled summer engagement session in Tuscaloosa. Jaimie shared her proposal excitement with me earlier in the summer. From planning to photographing, these two were such a pleasure to work with.

Jaimie describes the first time she set eyes on Travis as love at first sight. Across a crowded room, she saw the most handsome man she had ever seen. After a few days, the strangers connected and started making memories that will last forever.

We met in the late afternoon and the heat index was over 100 degrees. Summer Sundays are warm and relaxing.Well in Tuscaloosa in August a summer day is just hot. With my portable fan and water bottles close by we did our best to make a 100 degree day look cool and pleasant. I always ask my couples if they have any special places they would like to visit. I give Jaimie all the credit for this wonderful mix of city and nature in this gallery.

We started the afternoon in a beautiful downtown Tuscaloosa park. I immediately connected with Travis and Jaimie’s sweet and laid back personality. They were so flexible to all my ideas.engagement-photography-tuscaloosa

I’m such a rule follower, but on this hot day I wanted to break the rules and jump into that fountain. There were two large signs posted and I just cannot break the rules without feeling awful. Ice cold water bottles kept us all happy. fountain-photography-tuscaloosa

After a little time in the heat, we headed to Five Bar in downtown for a drink. The air conditioning and lighting were amazing in this building. five-bar-tuscaloosa-photography five-bar-engagement-ring

Next, we walked over to Chuck’s Fish. Travis is a head chef at Chuck’s. The couple thought it would be nice to share a few moments in front of those picturesque white windows. chucks-fish-tuscaloosa

Look at this cute hat Jaimie brought to accent her outfit. When layering is not practical in the summer warmth, then adding a hat is a great idea.downtown-tuscaloosa-engagement-photography

One of my favorite group of images. These moments capture so much of the story they are creating in Tuscaloosa.floppy-hat-engagement-kiss

After some time in the city, we drove a short distance to Hurricane Creek. This is one of their favorite nature escapes. The sun was setting and the imagery is magical.

After a very warm afternoon session, Jaimie and Travis had no complaints finishing the session with their feet in the cooler water.engagement-photographer-tuscaloosa-alabama engagement-photographer-tuscaloosa alabama-creek-engagement

I enjoy slowing things down and capturing a spectacular environmental image for my clients. This image is a panoramic of Hurricane Creek. It contains over 30 images stitched together to create the imagery.
