University of Alabama Engagement // Tuscaloosa Wedding Photographer

This is the big week! In a few more days Savannah and Jason will be married in Decatur, Alabama. I met these two last spring at the wedding of Savannah’s sister. I was so thrilled when Savannah’s family invited me to be a part of such another wedding day.

Savannah and Jason met me in Tuscaloosa, Alabama last month for their engagement photography session. We talked wedding detail fun at a local coffee shop before heading out for the session. A quick side note, I have never been a coffee drinker. Is that not crazy. Love the smell of a coffee shop, but a tea latte all the way for me. Back to the wedding plans. It’s so exciting for me to learn a bride’s photography vision for her wedding day. I desire to capture images that truly have meaning for the bride. I wish to leave a lifetime of wedding memories for my couples.

Savannah met Jason while they were attending the University of Alabama. They wanted some of their session to include campus landmarks. I enjoy photographing around campus and near Tuscaloosa’s riverwalk. The winter weather gave us a special treat of a little snow on the ground. The cool temperatures made it super easy to capture warm, snuggly pictures. I think we were the only ones brave enough to walk around campus that day. It’s so rare to have Bryant-Denny Stadium all to yourself. We even braved some ice steps for some different looks around the stadium.

There will not be any snow in Decatur’s forecast for the wedding day. No matter what the weather holds, this weekend will be filled with love and special memories for Savannah and Jason. You two have a wonderful week celebrating with family and friends.

Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session in Tuscaloosa.

Look at those sweet smiles down by Tuscaloosa’s Riverwalk. Yall it was so cold, but these two were so great.
This photography spot was one of Savannah’s picks. She really liked the railroad trellis by the river.
This was one of my favorites. I have photographed several times at Tuscaloosa historical Capitol Park, and the winter skies allowed for some really sweet imagery.
This may be the only time I get to take an engagement portrait at Bryant-Denny Stadium with snow on the ground. Look at those beautiful clouds in the sky.
We were the only people walking on the quad. What a rare intimate moment at the heart of campus. Did I mention it was a little cold on campus that day!
