Rustic Wedding Video in Alabama

Ashley and Ben’s wedding day was highlighted by one big surprise. During their “first touch”, Ashley and Ben planned to read personal vows to each other. Little did we know that Ben would show up with his guitar and surprise Ashley by singing his vows to her. After Ashley read her sweet vows to Ben, there was a short paused followed by the sound of guitar strings (3:52 in the video). Add in some emotional first looks with the patriarchs in Ashley’s family and the sweetest first dances in the barn, this wedding day was truly special.

About the Couple

Ashley contacted us about a month before her wedding. We were excited for the connection and the opportunity to serve this couple. We start most wedding days by capturing some drone ariels of the property. Unfortunately, the day started with rain. We joined the bridal party for some getting ready fun and watched the weather closely. We were all hoping the sunshine would arrive for the outdoor ceremony in the orchard. After Ashley and her mom shared some time together in the loft of the carriage house, the sun started to peak through the clouds. The rain had passed and all of the rest of the day’s outdoor activities would go on as planned.

I usually spend a paragraph to share a little more about our couple’s love story. I think this is one of those time where I’ll just tease you and say, “watch the video:)”. And watch Ashley and Ben tell you their story.

Ashley spent some time doing first looks with some of the favorite guys in her family. Then, after a few portraits, it was time for the “first touch”. A first touch is a way for the bride and groom to be with each other before the wedding without actually seeing each other. The two met on the corner of the carriage house. They held hands, shared vows, and prayed over the day.

As guests arrived for the ceremony, there was a huge air of thanksgiving that the sunshine had appeared. One of Ben’s friends and mentors officiated the wedding. There were a lot of happy tears as Ben saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle with her father. The wedding ceremony was filled with love and reverence to God.

We were able to sneak away for a few sunset portraits before the reception. Toasts, dances, cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses, and some great dance fun were some of the highlights of the evening. Ashley and Ben were greeted with sparklers for their send-off and drove away in a friend’s classic truck.

Thank you for the memories, Ashley and Ben. I’m so glad you were able to plan a wedding day at such a beautiful property like J&D Farms. I really enjoyed adding the ambient sounds of nature and God’s creation to your wedding film. There were a few times we wished we had some tissues in our pocket. It was amazing to see y’all embrace the day with joy and hope for the future. May God bless you and your family mightily.
