A Rainy-Day Love Story | Brian & Jenn’s Wedding at The Coachman Event Venue
As Cincinnati wedding videographers, we’ve learned one thing over the years — no matter how carefully a wedding is planned, the most unforgettable moments often come when plans go awry. Brian and Jenn’s wedding day is the perfect example of that beautiful truth.
Originally, the two had planned an outdoor ceremony at a beloved family property. But as the forecast turned from drizzle to downpour, they made a last-minute call that showed what truly mattered: not the weather, not the setting — just the chance to say “I do” surrounded by the people they love.
A Rainy Morning & Meaningful Beginnings
We started the day at Jenn’s family home, where the morning was filled with laughter, nerves, and joyful anticipation. Jenn got ready with her mom and sisters, and her mother helped her into her wedding gown — a quiet, emotional moment we were honored to capture.
Jenn had three first looks: with her bridesmaids (who gasped and squealed appropriately), with her father (a moment filled with smiles), and finally, with Brian. As Jenn glowed with a smile, Brian’s emotions took over — a beautiful reaction that says everything about their love for one another.
Portraits in the Rain, Dogs Included
Next up were portraits, and despite the steady rain, Brian and Jenn leaned in fully to the moment. Their two dogs, Rosie and Beau, joined for some sweet photos before we hopped into a vintage RV. We ventured out for portraits overlooking the bluffs of the Ohio River, where umbrellas, light rain, and soft light created a stunning, ethereal vibe.
Then we stopped by a local greenhouse that graciously let us take photos and video among the lush greenery. Jenn’s floral veil flowed perfectly among the blooming plants — a dreamy match to the setting.
An Intimate Indoor Ceremony at The Coachman
The rain couldn’t stop the beauty of the day. At The Coachman Event Venue in Aurora, Indiana, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate indoor ceremony. Guests were welcomed to elegant black and gold table settings and the sounds of a live violinist. Jenn’s father teared up again as he walked her down the aisle and shook Brian’s hand — a moment of quiet pride and emotion.
The ceremony was officiated by Brian’s sister-in-law, who shared personal stories and sweet reflections about the couple. Jenn and Brian exchanged heartfelt vows, rings, and finally — their first kiss as husband and wife.
Reception Highlights & a T-Shirt Toss
After the ceremony, we stole away for a few more portraits around the historic buildings of Aurora as the rain began to lift. Then it was time to celebrate. The couple made their grand entrance and gave a warm welcome speech to their guests.
The night continued with a candlelit dinner, touching parent dances, and an unexpected twist on tradition: instead of a bouquet toss, Jenn and Brian tossed out custom t-shirts — each one printed with childhood photos of the bride and groom. It was fun, it was playful, and it got everyone on the dance floor.
They cut the cake, swapped their dress shoes for Nike sneakers, and partied into the night.
A Day That Was Perfectly Theirs
Brian and Jenn’s wedding day was never about perfect weather or flawless plans. It was about laughter in the rain, deep connection, family, and fully embracing the unexpected.
To witness a couple so grounded in love — and so ready to pivot with grace — was inspiring. Their day wasn’t what they originally planned, but it was exactly what it needed to be.
