Luke & Lydia’s July wedding in Louisville, Kentucky, was just that—a day filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. From the historic Saint James Church ceremony to the breathtaking reception at Hazelnut Farm, every moment was picture-perfect.
A Beautiful Start at Hazelnut Farm
We arrived at Hazelnut Farm on a stunning summer day. The sun beamed over the property, highlighting its beautifully landscaped grounds. Lydia and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the upstairs bridal suite, a space filled with laughter, excitement, and the soft hues of pink that decorated the day. After capturing sweet robe pictures with her bridesmaids and flower girl, Lydia shared a heartfelt moment with her mother while getting into her wedding dress—a truly touching scene.
A Traditional & Emotional Ceremony at Saint James
Skipping the first look, the couple chose to see each other for the first time as Lydia walked down the aisle. Luke’s reaction was priceless—his eyes welled with tears as he saw his bride approach, escorted by her father. The ceremony was held at Saint James, a historic and breathtaking church in Louisville. The two exchanged vows, rings, and communion in a ceremony that was as sacred as it was moving. Family and friends witnessed the beginning of their new journey together before we stepped outside for beautiful family portraits in front of the church’s stunning architecture.
A Grand Celebration at Hazelnut Farm
The reception at Hazelnut Farm was nothing short of magical. The couple was introduced to a standing ovation and shared their first dance as husband and wife beneath twinkling chandeliers. Lydia’s father gave a heartfelt welcome speech, sharing cherished stories from her childhood, followed by touching toasts from the Best Man and Lydia’s sister.
The evening continued with meaningful traditions—a sweet father-daughter dance, a mother-son dance, and of course, the cake-cutting. Lydia and Luke’s wedding cake was extra special, designed with love by their own family. The bouquet toss and anniversary dance kept the celebration lively, but the biggest surprise of the night came when their bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and friends performed a surprise flash mob to officially open the dance floor! The energy in the room was electric, and from that moment on, the party was in full swing.
A Perfect Ending to a Perfect Day
One of our favorite moments was stepping outside with the newlyweds to capture romantic portraits around Hazelnut Farm’s scenic grounds. With blue skies above and everything in bloom, it was the perfect setting to soak in those first moments of married life.
