Birmingham Alabama Wedding at Hephzibah Church
I enjoyed photographing Jordan and Conner’s wedding day. Their day contained much excitement and emotion. Their ceremony took place in Jordan’s family church. After the ceremony, guests traveled to a family home outside of Birmingham, Alabama for the reception.
Meaningful exchanges of love filled the entire day. The couple shared sweet letters with each other before the ceremony. Bridesmaids and the mothers of the couple looked on as the two saw each other for the first time. There was not a dry eye around. Joyful tears covered the entire day.
Here are a few questions I asked Jordan & Conner during the wedding planning.
A. …After a friends wedding 2 years ago, I went to a party and when I went to leave he came over to my car and mentioned taking me on a date… I didn’t want to hurt his feelings so I said, “maybe one day.” Well, the next day I couldn’t stop thinking about him, so I messaged him on Instagram. We hung out that night and have been together every day since!
A. So apparently Conner had chosen my ring in October, but they had to order because he knew that I loved yellow gold, but they old had white gold in the store. The weekend after my brother passed away, they called and told him that my ring was ready to be picked up. Conner says that he didn’t know how to handle the situation with everything that had happened so he waited. The next weekend him and his friend went and picked up my ring. That same night we were going to this truck meet kind of thing that my brothers friends had put together for him. Me, my sister, and Conner had rode together, so we had to take her back afterwards to my parents. We walked inside and my mom was kind of acting strange, she was messing with her video camera. I asked her what she was doing with it and she said she was just making sure that it worked to get it ready for Christmas, which was 6 days away. So whatever, I believed her…. I was sitting on the couch and she asked me to get up because she wanted to show me something on our mantle. it was at that point that I knew something was up haha. I got up and walked over there, reluctantly. I was already in tears and then she turned me around there was Conner on one knee, if front of my mom, sister, and step-dad. She recorded the whole thing and we laughed and cried. After we left, Conner looked at me said, ” I chose to do it in their living room, because I wanted to bring a little bit of happiness back to their lives.” And as if I didn’t already think he was the best person I knew, that just confirmed it for me!
A. I envision our first look to be so perfect! I get excited just thinking about it! I definitely want to make sure we capture that special moment!
I love getting to know my couples and capturing their day. So wonderful to see the love and joy of two families becoming one. Here are some memories of Jordan and Conner’s special day.
