Moments into our first wedding photography consultation, I discover that these two work in the broadcast industry. It was so hard for me not to stop the conversation and say, “I’m your photographer!”. I spent many years working in broadcast and I enjoy meeting others that have a passion for that industry. I feel so lucky that such good people chose me to be their wedding photographer.
Their relationship is a true fairy tale broadcasters love story. He’s from the East. She’s from the Midwest. They met at a radio station in the South. The day was surrounded by family that traveled in from all over the country and friends that were so excited to be celebrating. Their venue is a hidden jewel in Meridian, Mississippi. From the outside it is just a building, but the interior of the Little Theatre has so many neat nooks and crannies. The ceremony took place in a brick courtyard surrounded by vibrant green foliage and added floral decorations. The reception and cocktail areas were decorated by the bride and groom themselves. A romantic and fun wedding day with so many chic details.
Carla and Scott, thank you for inviting me into your story. I hope you had a wonderful week with your feet in the sand!

When your groom is over 6’4″, heels are always a cute choice. The bride’s two daughters chose a rose gold floor length dress and looked beautiful next to their mom.Hours before the ceremony all of the bride’s sweet girlfriends surrounded her in prayer. I really enjoy documenting special unplanned moments during the wedding day.Could the groom’s smile be any bigger? Scott made sure all of the little details were taken care of before the wedding so his Carla could relax and enjoy the day. I love how the beautiful sky highlights caught his blue eyes in this groom’s portrait. The couple hoped for a laid back and fun wedding day. The groom is definitely having fun as everyone is getting ready for the ceremony.Thank goodness the best man stayed sharp with his duties. The gorgeous bride with her loving daughters. The mother of the bride was standing with me making sure her girls looked perfect. Moments of togetherness that make me smile. Before the ceremony was a planned cocktail hour. This setting is perfect and the entrance to the Little Theatre filled up quickly. The atmosphere was full of laughter as the groom entertained his guests.I like how the double doors frame Carla’s smile perfectly. These are moments the wedding party would forget without the documentary photography.Carla is escorted down the aisle by her nephew, Jonathan. So many emotions surrounding this picture including memories of a lost loved one. This was the most anticipated moment of the day for the bride and groom. Scott seeing his bride for first time was perfect bliss and look at that beautiful landscaping of the Little Theatre courtyard. All smiles as the bride joins her groom. Carla loves black and white imagery so I will be editing a lot of her wedding collection in this classic look.Scott delicately holds Carla’s hands. The outside location was naturally elegant for the exchanging of vows and rings. The first kiss was like a scene from a movie. Look at those intimate smiles as the wedding guests applaud and cheer in the background.I asked the couple to walk around the corner for some sunset portraits and Scott scooped up his bride in his arms. He must have been waiting for this opportunity.I asked the newly married couple to take a moment and breathe each other in.The most beautiful sunset of my wedding season so far. All credit goes to Mr. Golden Sun for framing the couple’s romantic portraits.Absolutely stunning. I picked a few spots for couple portraits in the courtyard, but this light was a magical surprise to a wonderful photography day.The reception area is all set for dinner and a grand party.A wedding cake for the bride and groom topped with a floral arrangement matching the wedding party. The guests enjoyed sweet cupcakes topped with gold sequined hearts. The best man started a wave of congratulatory toasts. Almost every table showered the happy couple with warm sentiments and fun memories. An intimate champagne toast after cutting the wedding cake.I always add a little special lighting to the first dances. As the couple made turns around the dance floor, I was able to catch a little lens flare.Great romantic imagery in this black and white. The groom also danced with his mother and the bride with her father. After the formal dances, tables were moved and the party really got started. Most of the guests hit the dance floor and kept the party going into the evening. As the party continued inside, I step outside to see the courtyard lighting. This is the time of the evening that I hope to get one more romantic portrait of the couple. I usually setup my shot and go find the bride and groom to ask them if they are ready for one more photography moment. Well as I was planning, Scott and Carla were sneaking outside for a moment. No posing necessary for these two.
