Notes from the Bride: Credit Card Perks

I have recently suggested one thing to three newly engaged gals and I realized I’ve never shared it with y’all.

What could this groundbreaking tip be?!?!birmingham wedding photographer

It’s one thing that my husband and I did when we were newly engaged and it honestly helped fund our honeymoon.  And to be honest, he did way more legwork on this than I did.

Okay, he did all the work.

Any guesses as to what he did?

Are you excited to think the groom can have a task in wedding planning too?

Here it is….we found a credit card that had the best perks for US.

Let me explain…we wanted to put every little or big wedding expense on this credit card for many reasons.

A quick note. If you’re still in the budget planning stage, read some notes from the bride about A Real Wedding Budget.

First off, we earned vacation points when doing so, which was a huge motivator for us. It helped to cover the cost of our flights for our honeymoon, the car rental, and our lodging. If I told you it almost paid for our entire trip, I would not be exaggerating.  Seriously!

Secondly, it gave us a true running record of ALL of our expenses for the wedding.  A big expense or a small one, it didn’t matter. Everything went on this credit card. And it was super simple when I needed to return or exchange something because I knew exactly what card I used to pay for it.

Lastly, it started our credit together as a couple. Yes, I had to eventually update the credit card company with my new last name, but as you can see it’s totally worth it!

Maybe you already have a credit card with perks, if so make sure you’re using those perks!

If not, I highly encourage you to look into something like this!
