Soggy Bottom Lodge Wedding

When Victoria’s mother contacted me about filming her daughter’s wedding, I knew I wanted to be there. I looked at my calendar hoping that the wedding date that was only 3 weeks away would be available. And it was! After listening to so many sweet stories from my couples, I had this feeling inside that this wedding day was going to be special. Over the years, I have learned to truly focus on each couple’s story when preparing for their wedding day. Tyler and Victoria opened their day up to my art and allowed me to tell their story.

Wedding Day Memories

One of my favorite parts of the wedding weekend is the rehearsal dinner. I think part of it stems from my own memories of my wedding weekend. That Friday evening was a time of hugs and laughter with all of my favorites together in one place. Tyler and Victoria had an incredible wedding weekend at Soggy Bottom Lodge’s Shack 33 in Linden, Alabama. The rehearsal dinner didn’t disappoint. The couple was showered with powerful words of love, wisdom, and truth from their family and friends. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to share every speech from their rehearsal dinner in this short film.

About the Bride & Groom

Tyler fell in love with Victoria “about as quick as someone could in a relationship.” They met last summer and Tyler just knew she was the one. Tyler proposed to his girl in front of her family at her home. She was so surprised. Victoria loves Tyler’s patience and the one word that Tyler says best describes her is “resilient”. They love spending time together unplugged and laughter is a bonus of their relationship. I love the words Tyler used to describe looking forwards to their wedding day—”I know God has had this plan all along for Victoria to be my wife and it’s going to be a surreal moment.” And I’m almost certain Victoria’s dream of a joy-filled first look came true.

Thank you Victoria and Tyler for allowing me to witness your love and for giving me one of the best seats in the house for your wedding weekend. Soggy Bottom Lodge was a perfect spot for your family to come together over the Thanksgiving holiday and celebrate you. Your wedding day couldn’t have been any better and I’ll never forget those clouds opening in the sky as you exchanged vows.
