Some wedding days just feel like they are made for the movies and this was one of them. For us, it’s not really about the stuff, but more about the people and celebrating the union of marriage. We had a blast with this couple and Alyssa over at Alyssa Rose Photography. Right after the sweetest first look, I knew it was going to be so fun to document this day. Most of the day, we really just stood back, and watch the admiration and love Mary Kathryn and Leandro have for one another. As the sun started to get lower in the sky at Nirvana Gardens, Mary Kathryn was escorted down the rustic path to her soon to be husband. After their brother-in-law shared, kind words about their character, he continued to lead them through the marriage ceremony. They took a moment to share personal vows and smiled through the exchanging rings. Then, they continued with the Christian tradition of the Unity Cross. And by now you know the evening continued as the day started—with many smiles and much celebration.
The Bride and Groom
These two wonderful people met while attending college at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I asked Mary Kathryn to share their proposal story. She said, “I am one of four sisters, and most of us have had the entire family present at our engagements. Leandro had been planning with my family for months, and scheduling issues kept popping up to delay it month after month….. Leandro decided late one night that he didn’t want to wait a minute longer. He stayed up all night to finish the handmade wooden ring box he made for me. When he was done, he woke up in the early morning and asked me to come to his workshop. Tim McGraw’s “It’s Your Love” was playing in the background, he got down on one knee and proposed with the ring box he made. It was the only way he could have surprised me and I was absolutely giddy! We then got to surprise my family the next weekend by telling them it had already happened!”
I asked the two a few more questions before their wedding day. What’s a one-word description of each other and your relationship? “Mary Kathryn: beautiful. Leandro: steady. Relationship: best friends.” Yes, these two are this real and sweet in person! What do you love most about your relationship? “Having fun together – we make each other laugh all the time.” What is your idea of a perfect date? “Going to Waffle House and then a Bonfire at home 🙂” How do you like to spend time together?” We love to do absolutely nothing!…. When we finally get to spend time together- we love to relax!” What is the most anticipated moment of your wedding day? “Making it official! Announcing husband and wife.”

I thought it would be fun to pass along a few things that I’ve recently tried and loved or really enjoyed. I’ll do a post once or twice a month called “What I’m Loving Wednesday”. I know other bloggers do something similar on certain days of the week, so this might be something familiar for…
