Birmingham Engagement Session | Heather + James

I met up with Heather and James for an engagement photography session outside of the Birmingham area. These two love the outdoors and wanted me to capture some moments of the two of them before their wedding day. The overcast skies made for beautiful lighting for their engagement session. As a photographer, when the skies are cloudy, I feel like we can be free and explore without any restraints. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sunshine too. But in Alabama, we get a lot of sunshine during the year. So having a little different lighting landscape really sparks my creativity. It’s kind of like rain on a wedding day. Noone really wants the rain, but honestly, my creative soul gets excited about “dreary” skies. Wedding couples get such unique imagery when the skies add a little dramatic mood to the scene.

I’m excited to photograph James and Heather’s wedding day next January. These two were the first to book a wedding with me in 2019! Happiness all around! They are getting married in a little country church outside of Birmingham. Ten minutes into the engagement session I knew these two are going to have a fun wedding day. They are a mix of sweet and silly with a deep caring spirit for each other and those around them. I’m really looking forward to celebrating the day with these two.
