Decatur Alabama Wedding at Sykes Place // Savannah & Jason
It is such a treat to share photographs from Savannah and Jason’s Decatur, Alabama wedding. As an Alabama wedding photographer, I travel all over the state celebrating with some amazing couples. I met Savannah last spring while photographing her sister, Meghan’s wedding. In the fall, I was excited to hear about Savannah’s engagement. And I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me about wedding photography. We were soon busy planning their wedding photography vision and picking an engagement session date. You can see their snow-filled Tuscaloosa engagement session here.
When I first arrived at Savannah’s hotel room, I could tell it was going to be a special day. The crisp, winter day was beautiful with full sunshine and blue skies. The bride and groom were full of so much happiness and joy. Their joy radiated from the entire wedding party as they prepared for Savannah and Jason’s big day.It was a day of laughter, happy tears, and immense joy.
The ceremony took place at Vintage Faith Church in Decatur, Alabama. The couple chose this location for its historic and vintage appeal. The Church has dark wooden pews and wooden arches stretching to the ceiling. The couple stood in front of a stone altar as they made their vows to one another.
Later that evening, the reception was held at Sykes Place on Bank. This location also fit the couple’s quaint and classic style. Sykes Place is located in historic downtown Decatur. During the reception, DJ Jammin’ Jeff kept the hits and dance floor moving. Savannah and Jason even planned a parade for their guests. Well not really, but it’s fun to think of it that way. Just before the first dance, Decatur’s Mardi Gras celebration rolled through town. Wedding festivities paused so everyone could enjoy the revelry outside. Such a fun memory from the day.
A big thank you again to Savannah and Jason for inviting me into your family for the weekend. Y’all are so amazing. Here are some of the captured moments of the wedding celebration.

This sweet couple is coming up on their 1 year wedding anniversary. I was reminiscing and thought I would post some of my favorites from their wedding day. At the end of this spring, I was invited to photograph a wedding at Everhope Plantation in Eutaw, Alabama.
