Downtown Demopolis Engagement Session

I was recently preparing Madelyn and Kevan’s timeline for their wedding day and I decided to share a few portraits from their engagement session from this winter in Demopolis, Alabama.  I can hardly wait for their fall wedding.

As a wedding photographer, I don’t just show up on your wedding day and take pictures.  Starting at the first inquiry from a bride or groom, I work to build a relationship and offer assistance in the entire wedding planning process.  I communicate with my couples whether it’s in person with my local brides or Skype, face time, or phone call with those live out of town.  I personally planned my wedding day out of town and I know what’s it’s like to coordinate with vendors far away.

It has been so nice to get to know Madelyn and Kevan through messaging, dinner, and their engagement session.  Next month, I will check in with Madelyn to hear more about her wedding planning.  I’m happy to make suggestions for family formal portraits and make adjustments to the wedding day timeline to fit her desires.  I also always call my brides on their wedding week to see if any changes have been made or if I can help with any last minute questions.

Now on to some of my favorite images from an amazing engagement photography session with these high school sweethearts.  Madelyn is a big fan of black and white photography so it was neat to process her edits with this look.

The Black Warrior and Tombigbee Rives were actually at flood stage this day. I told the couple to look out at the greatness of the river and their expressions are perfect.

The last sequence of the night and I just told these two to be with each other. So natural and sweet are these moments.

This is near where Kevan proposed. I love creating images just before the kiss.

Just a few more months until they exchange wedding bands and vows!

Don’t they just photograph perfectly together.

It’s not an engagement session unless I am climbing something. I little higher angle at the park created a great picture.

Downtown demopolis has Christmas lights on the trees in the Town Square this time of year. I love the bokeh created by the lights along with this sweet couple moment.

The sun was setting quickly, but we had a few extra moments to stop by one of their date benches at Foscue Park.

Madelyn directed me to all of their favorite place. Winter daylight create such a magical look on the couple.

Madelyn hung a chandelier from a tree. The light was hitting the crystal perfectly creating some very romantic imagery.
