Demopolis Summer Engagement

I connected with Jordan just a few months before her wedding day. There was much excitement get an engagement session on the calendar. As the engagement session date drew near, we realized thunderstorms were in the forecast. I can photograph in the rain, but when thunderstorms are looming I usually reschedule the portraits. I suggested we move the session up an hour and maybe we could beat the storms. That extra hour definitely saved us.

I tailor my engagement sessions to the couple. My goal is to create meaningful photography to celebrate this special time. Jordan’s one request was a country field landscape. After an hour of photographing, we traveled to the open field for sunset portraits. A summer storm was beginning to form in the distance. We did not get the sunset pictures, but we achieved a dramatic yet fun look as the clouds were rolling into the field.

I am still humbled by clients who are so pleased with their photography collection. This couple’s flexibility and trusted in my work made the session enjoyable. Thank you, Jordan and Conner for your kind words. I’m so glad that I created the look you were hoping to achieve.

The beautiful rose bushes are blooming in Demopolis this time of year. As I got to know this couple, I told them to relax and take a stroll down the river walk.

Jordan and Conner’s wedding will be in the Vance, Alabama area this fall. I’m excited to see all the personal touches Jordan has planned for their wedding.

I can spend hours creating pictures at this location. The green ivy wall on this old building is amazing.

Jordan and Conner warmed up to my ideas quickly and I could see this series of images in a wedding guest book.

I try not to pick out a favorite from the session, but this one is close to the top. Jordan and Conner look so sweet together framed beautifully by the wildflowers.

“Look at him. Look at her. Look at me.” I try not to direct too much during my sessions. I use subtle suggestions and allow the couple to flow with it.

We walked around the corner to a little patch of woods. We were all by ourselves. Connor and Jordan were starting to enjoy the moment towards the end of the session.

The sky was starting to get dark and even darker in the woods. I wanted to get one natural light shot on the bridge. There was just enough light to create this look.

As the wind picked up and the thunderstorms got closer, we hurried over to the last location. This is one of my favorite spots to photograph. I enjoy open fields and the backdrop they create.
