Demopolis Wedding // Madelyn & Kevan
I met Madelyn while photographing her friends’ wedding. She was a bridesmaid and it was great working with all the girls. When Madelyn called me about wedding photography, she was so sweet in complimenting me on my art and cheerful demeanor during the wedding day. Yall, I smile during the entire wedding day. I smile so much that my cheeks are usually sore by the end of the day. I’m going to have some great smile lines because of all of my wonderful wedding couples.
I photographed Madelyn and Kevan’s engagement session the winter before their wedding. They were so natural together that I could hardly wait to photograph their wedding day. A little about Madelyn and Kevan’s day. Their wedding was held in their hometown of Demopolis, Alabama in late September. We were hoping for mild temperature, but the sun shined bright and the temperature was high all day. The wedding party was so much fun though, that I hardly realized how hot it was.
The outdoor, late summer ceremony was a vintage and whimsical affair. The ceremony was held in the Town Square Park. The couple chose the Fountain in the Demopolis Town Square for several reasons. It held a lot of sentimental value to both of them. It was the location where several of their prom pictures were taken when they were in high school. Plus, the couple loved the idea of having their wedding take place in one of the oldest town squares in the state of Alabama. They followed up with that tradition by having their reception at Lyon Hall, another historical landmark in Demopolis.
When I asked the two what is your most anticipated part of the day, they said the First Look and the moment they finally say “I do”! Madelyn and Kevan’s love of family, tradition, architecture, and simply their hometown are all evident in their selection of their choice of venue settings. It was a pleasure to photograph this couple’s big day as they pledged their love and faithfulness in front of their family and friends. Here are some of the captured moments of Madelyn and Kevan’s special day.
